Illinois experienced this first-hand in July 1995, when extreme heat contributed to the deaths of more than 700 people in the Chicago area.”( Illinois Department of Public Health)

The Ayingo Foundation uses arts, media, technology and sports to bring attention to youth and healthy lifestyles.
More on the Will County Boxing Program provides youth an outlet…
Our dedication to the project stems from the achievements that Joseph Awinongya had through boxing. As a young man he faced many hardships and lived a life on the streets. Boxing gave him an alternative. It helped him stay away from trouble. Now he focuses his energy in creating the same opportunities for others. The Will County Boxing Program will help young men and woman gain self-confidence and help them to balance their emotional state of being as well as their physical strength. In the program youth ages 6 and up are welcome to register regardless of race or gender.
The Will County Boxing Mentoring Program is aimed to provide positive role models to youth in the Will County community, serving at-risk middle school students. By establishing one-on-one relationships, mentors will be able to support the student on their journey to high school and beyond.
